CNC Control
Siemens SINUMERIK ONE CNC control with servo drives and motors with open system libraries and high speed communications. The operator interfaces via the Usach Open Architecture System consisting of an industrial PC (IPC) and 19″ chemical resistant active matrix touch screen color graphic display. The interface media on the PC includes multiple USB ports and an Ethernet connection to connect machine control to a plant network.
USACH Open Architecture System
The Usach Open Architecture System is a fully integrated, custom written machine operating and programming environment designed for simple and intuitive access to standard CNC display and information screens as well as a user friendly enhanced conversational graphic part programming system. The system includes a user customizable software operator panel, online help system and error display screens to assist maintenance personnel in locating machine problems. The system creates part program cycles through an optimized compiler, which eliminates the need for the programmer to work in ISO code. Grinding wheel and tool storage is done on hard drive allowing virtually limitless numbers of tool combinations to be stored and easily accessed. The system is ideal for both production and quick part changeover type applications.
Operation
The Usach Open Architecture System is designed to be used with a touch screen, mouse, keyboard or a combination of all three. Display screens are designed to allow simultaneous viewing of operator panel, axis position display and part program execution. A separate pendant with jog push-buttons and hand wheel is supplied for set-up.
Programming
Part programming is done in an icon-based drag and drop execution allowing the programmer to drag and drop program elements in the desired order then expand the individual sections for parameter entry. Part program and tool names are freely assigned with names up to 64 characters in length. Both tools and part programs are easily selected via a drop down selection box. Different types of part program cycles may be programmed sequentially in the same part program. Standard types of part program cycle types included are:
- Traverse grinding
- With oscillating or pick type infeed
- Plunge grinding
- With or without oscillation
- Right and left face or shoulder grinding
- With or without oscillation
- Vectored plunge grinding
- With possible radial or axial linear finish
- Integrated wheel dressing
All cycles can incorporate gap elimination for optimized cycle times. Dressing cycles can be placed in specified parts of the grinding program or defined as a function of the amount of material removed.
