Battery Maintenance for Controllers, Axes, and Turret Drive Modules

 

Battery Function:

In the event of a machine tool power outage, the battery supplies power to the controller and axes to retain memory data.

Replacement Cycle for Controller and Axis Batteries:

It is recommended to replace the batteries once a year.

Battery Installation Positions:

There are three locations for battery installation on the machine:

  • Controller battery: Located above the rear of the display on the controller.
  • Drive battery: Mounted on the drive unit inside the electrical cabinet.
  • Turret drive module battery: Installed within the turret drive module.

Controller Battery (FANUC)

Battery Specifications:

  • Voltage: 3V
  • Battery Type: Special lithium battery for controllers

Steps for Inspecting or Replacing the Controller Battery:

⚠️ WARNING: High-voltage alternating current is present inside the electrical cabinet when the main circuit breaker is in the ON position.

 

Axis Drive Battery (FANUC)

Battery Specifications:

  • Voltage: 6V
  • Battery Type: Lithium battery

Steps for Inspecting or Replacing the Controller Battery:

Turret Drive Module Battery

Battery Specifications:

  • Voltage: 3.6V
  • Battery Type: Lithium battery
